The walls are closing in around me,
I can no longer pretend,
Once again to face reality,
Another dream must end

Far away from this mad mad world,
I dream of a blissful surrounding,
Of love and life, dreams and happiness untold,
Such were the visions of my musings.

Misery had no home in my heart,
And suffering was so foreign.
O! what reflections of childish ardor,
Of which remains this shattered illusion.

In the distance, a heartbroken cry breaks through,
The eerie stillness and the darkness foreboding,
This is the world I enter into,
With a burdened heart that is ever sinking
