urrrrggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was the reaction i had when i read through my posts...i mean cmon..i have to be the most depressing person (stress on the most) on this planet...no wonder people think im so overly emotional and sentimental. yuckkkkk!!! that definitely is not a palatable description of oneself. so here goes my attempt at writing something about some happy memories...
his friends had dropped by from blore yest...so we all met up. and had dinner and i spent the nite in his frnds place.. it was great fun. we sat up playing cards and yakking. for guys..these ppl have a surprising ability to yak..i mean i would have thought this was the forte of the gentler folk..but no here are a bunch of guys who can yak hte donkeys tail off....hee hee. somehow i pictured them sitting behind the ass of a donkey and trying to get it off......hahahaha.. ok if you knew them you would find it funny too. and i dont mean the donkeys.
in the short time ive known him ive had some of hte best times in my life. like the new year party that we had...it had to be by far the most fun time. we started off with dinner. we went to this fancy continental place called new yorkers..now we being the typical dal roti tandoori chicken type people, none of us had any clue wat to order. so we just picked the most fancy looking items that caught our attention on the menu card. right..so there came the starters..whoever picked it made a good choice. it was great. everyone who were a little jittery about the place and the experiment with new food, started getting really excited. i mean the starters were absolutely mouth wateringly delicious. and then came the main course and the disaster began. i think disaster would be an understatement. everyone put on these brave faces and did their best to gulp the food down without grumbling too much...for after all we were paying through our teeth for the food. so we better like it...even if we dont. if u know wat i mean.
it was hilarious.
and hten we went for bowling. now some of us were really really really good..and put the rest of us to shame at our bowling abilities. they tried to give us some handy tips but we being we.....we dont learn ever do we. we just continued sucking at the game. and i think by we i mean mostly me...well anyways...like i was saying, we then decided ahh wat the hell..if we suck so should everyone around us rite..u know the typical indian scorpion mentality. so we resorted to distracting and hooting and calling,, and everything that was possible to ensure the person bowling doesnt actualyl throw hte ball in the rite direction finally. to a limit we succeeded..the flip side was that the rest decided to use the same tactics on us losers. ah well..i dont need to go into the details of how that went.
so now that bowling was done and we still had most of the nite left of new year celebrations... so we went to the beach. half of town also decided the same thing along with us. the crowd on the beach was just breathtaking. you actually couldnt see the sand. all covered with people. we found a nice spot for ourselves close to the water and plonked ourselves down. it was most romantic when he started singing songs, sitting by the water. i was overwhelmed by the love connection that i could feel.
finally it was twelve. now for those of you have gone to the beach, will know wat im talking about, when i say that somewhere close to twelve people acquire these annoying horns that could awaken the dead when blown. really really annoying when someone blows it....but probably exhilirating to do it yourself. honestly try it sometime. you have take in all your breath and just blow out in this one big ghusto of wind that makes an awful sound through that pipe that costs some five bucks. we spent the first fifteen mins cursing the ppl around us blowing the horn..then we decided..well we cant beat them, so we mite as well join them. so there we were standing on the parapeet surrounding hte beach and blowing the wits out of the people who crossed our paths. its addictive when u start. so all the way back to a friends place we kept blowing them. i think somewhere on the wayi heard some people threatenign..probably to get us locked up for public nuisance, but we couldnt care. we were on a high.
well the festivities died down in the outside world, and we sobered down a bit. i had taken cards, and for the first time in my life i gambled. not money....but a pack of other cards were used as dummy cash. it was fun all the same. call it beginners luck, call it flook, i won!!!!!!!! i dont know wat the rules of hte game are if u ask me now, i dont wat i was doing... but watever it was i won!!!!yippee yay yay!!!!!! damn i wish we had played for money!
this went on for a while till everyone got droopy eyed and decided to call it a night. slept for a little while, got up and left to return back to our respective lives. it was a night, that was absolutely, for a lack of a better word, i say unblemished. one memory i will always cherish. that will bring a smile. i laugh out loud everytime i think of those ridiculous horns that we kept blowing for half the nite.
i dont know why today after almost 4 months of the year, im writing about it. but this is just the beginning...i want to record all these memories before they slowly fade away with the ravages of time. to summon them up in solitude i guess.
